Let's pop a cork and toast America's very best, most popular Wine Course–now in a revised edition with new material that wine lovers will savor.

This is Kevin's 40th year in the wine business, and to celebrate, he has updated all the material on vineyards in Austria, Hungary, Greece, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, and Argentina. Plus, he completely refreshed the tasting section with flavor profiles that also discuss winemaking; created a new Best of the Best chapter; and included more than 20 smart phone tags throughout the book that link to videos of Kevin talking about wine. As always, the book offers Wine Basics, Tasting Wine, Matching Wine and Food, Frequently Asked Questions About Wine, and a Selected Glossary. Zraly goes region-by-region, with the wines organized from simple to complex–allowing readers who follow Kevin's order to experience the finest wines and a wide diversity of tastes, styles, regions, and countries.

More than ever, this is clearly the wine guide against which all others are judged.

Great book for beginners

 September 5, 2011
By Princess "Meg"

My husband and I are just getting “into wines”. This book is EXCELLENT! Not only does it explain the classifications of wine, but it puts the information into understandable terms. We first used it as a reference but now read it because it is informative and written so well. Now instead of bringing a bottle of wine to our dinner party hostess, we bring a copy of this book – price is about the same. And we get it quickly through Amazon prime.

Thirsty to learn

I purchased this book hoping it would be even better than the 2007 edition. Unfortunately it was about the same thing. I was a bit disappointed. I still would recommend this book….I love to learn about wine.

This book is an excellent beginner’s guide to wine. Never having taken a wine course, I was worried much of our readings would be over my head. Zraly does a great job of being detailed, but not too detailed. There were a few spelling and formatting errors, but since a new edition is released almost annually, that shouldn’t be an issue. Would recommend this product.
