i am trying to break a glass with sound, but it doesnt even vibrate?
I took the glass, knocked on it with a metal spoon,
found the note it makes and set my computer to play it loud,
it didn’t even vibrate a bit!
then i took my synth and tried playing that note VERY loud and that didn’t make it move either…
its a wine glass but, does it really metter if you’re trying to make it just vibrate if its crystal or not?
This was done on TV a week or so ago using an opera singer to make the sound. They had to use a very large amplifier linked to several speakers but it did work in the end.
Try using a wine glass that you can make “sing” when you run a wetted finger round the rim – this is the glass resonating at it natural frequency. Then use that frequency of sound as determined/captured by your computer – play it back with the biggest amplifier you have got – but I doubt if you will get it to work unless you have access to a PA system borrowed from a rock band or similar.
