Eurotunnel Customs?
I am going to Paris in February with my college Via Eurotunnel and was wondering if anybody knew If I can bring tobacco and wine back to the UK as Gifts and of course personal consumption, I have no intent to sell-on or whatever…I know the maximum amounts, but if I’m 2 months under 18 as soon as i get in the UK will i have them confiscated? Or is it ok to bring in goods from abroad that you bought at the legal age there?
I’ve never seen any customs officials after taking the Eurostar– in either direction. As far as I can tell, they don’t care. Don’t bring back pallets of the stuff, but I think you’re OK.
In addition, I believe that the law applies to transactions– ie, it’s illegal to sell to under-18s, not for under-18s to possess that stuff. I may be wrong.
