Wine Making Made Easy

Wine Making Discussion
Why do people want to become snobs?

The other day I was having a discussion with my friend, when he said he wanted to know about wine and cheese, in order to be a food snob. I’m all for people enjoying the finer things in life, but is there any psychology reports into what makes people want to be particularly snobby?

Well. Being in high end luxury and fashion, I’m in a pretty jaded marketplace. As for your friend wanting to be a food snob. I think that’s just an overgeneralization for wanting to be looked at and heard of as someone who is above the general population in food and wine knowledge, tastings, parings, etc.
As for wanting to become a snob. I think that’s more psychological, maybe not coming from well to do, and aspiring for it. Developing a “snob” act might fill a null or a void for a person. They want a feeling filled, but can’t in reality.

Or just plain pretentious, demanding recognition and attention that really isn’t justified.

The only other reason I could think of might be for innerself. To feel good, by trying to put others down, or placing themselves away from them, or can only relate at a higher level.

Just my thoughts.
